機(jī)械制造及自動(dòng)化專(zhuān)業(yè)包括了三部分內(nèi)容：機(jī)械設(shè)計(jì)、機(jī)械制造、機(jī)械自動(dòng)化，行業(yè)內(nèi)部分別稱為機(jī)設(shè)、機(jī)制、機(jī)電。

1、機(jī)械制造及自動(dòng)化系于1972年由“機(jī)械制造教研室”和“金屬工藝學(xué)教研室”組建而成。經(jīng)過(guò)40多年的建設(shè)和發(fā)展，機(jī)械制造及自動(dòng)化系已發(fā)展成為一個(gè)涉及領(lǐng)域?qū)拸V的高水平科研和教學(xué)基地。
1. The Department of mechanical manufacturing and automation was established in 1972 by the "teaching and Research Office of mechanical manufacturing" and the "teaching and Research Office of metal technology". After more than 40 years of construction and development, the Department of machinery manufacturing and automation has developed into a high-level scientific research and teaching base covering a wide range of fields.
2、機(jī)械行業(yè)是個(gè)老行業(yè)，人才需求一直是不冷不熱。制造業(yè)發(fā)展正面臨高級(jí)人才短缺的嚴(yán)峻挑戰(zhàn)，工業(yè)制成品的自主技術(shù)和科技創(chuàng)新能力明顯不足，且能耗、物耗高，浪費(fèi)、污染嚴(yán)重，龐大的工程技術(shù)隊(duì)伍不能有效轉(zhuǎn)化為人力資源優(yōu)勢(shì)，正成為制約制造業(yè)快速發(fā)展的主要因素。業(yè)內(nèi)專(zhuān) 家介紹，制造業(yè)高級(jí)人才大致可以分成研發(fā)、設(shè)計(jì)、工藝、裝配四種。
